7 Best Foods to Eat After Getting Braces

It is not uncommon for people with braces to feel uncomfortable after the first placement or tightening. You will get used to the discomfort, but it will make eating and chewing a very difficult task. You should always avoid going for hard food and always go for soft food. By eating soft or liquid foods and avoiding hard or chewy foods, you can surely reduce your pain. Following are some food options to consider if you are experiencing discomfort with your braces:

Yogurt

Yogurt is soft and cool, easy to eat, and helps in relieving oral pain. In addition, yogurt has many styles and flavors, so you can choose the yogurt that best suits your taste.  Just make sure that the yogurt is not sugary and make sure to clean your teeth and braces properly.

Oatmeal

If your mouth hurts after wearing braces then oatmeal is another excellent choice. The warmth of oatmeal can even help in reducing swelling and inflammation. If you are looking for a quick snack, it is also easy to prepare and can be ready in minutes.

Bananas

If you want to reduce hunger after installing braces, ripe bananas are a great and healthy choice. Try to choose bananas that are slightly brown because this means they are softer and put less pressure on the teeth. The softer the banana, the easier it is to chew.
